Suspended Ceilings

Suspended ceilings are used in many properties from commercial, industrial to residential as they are a quick and easy way to cover old and unappealing ceilings. As well as making your home look more attractive, suspended ceilings can cover wires and pipes and increase your homes insulation.

Suspended ceilings, also known as dropped or false ceilings, are essentially a secondary ceiling that is hung from the structural floor slab which creates a 3-to-8-inch gap between the floor slab and the top of the suspended ceiling. As well as making your home look more attractive, suspended ceilings can cover wires and pipes and increase your homes insulation.

The gap that is created through the suspended ceilings has a few benefits including increased distribution of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, the ability to install speakers, light fittings, fire detectors and many more into the ceiling.

Suspended Ceiling Tiles

Like most products, ceiling tiles come in a variety or designs and materials meaning that you can chose the ceiling tiles to suit your interior aesthetic and property. The main materials in which ceiling tiles are manufactured are metal, plasterboard, laminate, and mineral fibre which are perforated to mediate sound around the property.

Suspended Ceiling Installation Cost

There are many variables which can contribute to the cost of installing a suspended ceiling however on average, to supply and fit a suspended ceiling it would cost between £26 to £28 for m2.

Prices can vary due to location, the size of the area as smaller areas with tricky crevices and corners may take more time to install due to cutting the tiles into smaller pieces, the type of ceiling tile you choose as there are a range of tile prices depending on the ones you choose, and lastly ceiling height as usually, the higher the ceiling the longer the installation takes.
