How our Service Works for Tradespeople
Our service is simple, and designed to help you get regular local work and fill your diary with the type of jobs you want to work on in the areas you want to cover. Every day homeowners looking for local tradespeople and wanting home improvement services carried out post jobs on our site so that they can find good trades and services to carry out their work for them. The jobs which are posted cover many different types of trades, but naturally, some trades are more popular than others, by their nature. These jobs represent a chance for tradespeople to quote on projects and win work. We refer to these jobs as job leads, and this term is well known in the home improvement industry overall.
Our service is designed to help you win more customers
Choose the location & job types you want to quote on. You will receive alerts by email about customers looking for help so make sure you check all appropriate trades and services you provide. We set an automatic radius for you of 30 miles on registration, but you can adjust this once you have full access to your account (you'll need to be approved as a member first).
If you decide you'd like to quote on a job and take a job lead there's a small fee. We work off a currency called 'credits', which you top up using Paypal securely. Our job lead costs represent some of the most competitive in the industry, without compromising on quality. All of the job leads which are posted on Top Tradespeople are manually reviewed to check they are genuine before we put them live on the platform.
Our job lead form asks for plenty of information so you can decide whether the job is something you'd like to quote on more confidently before committing to buying the lead. The average job lead costs just 5 credits which usually means around £5.00. We say this, because members who top up with more credits can get extra credits free by buying in bulk so leads cost less.
There's no obligation to take leads and you're free to browse the available jobs in your area and for the trades you are registered for.
Listings in The Tradespeople Directory
Tradesmen are listed in the directory and are able to edit their business listing. Their business address is in there. However, contact details are provided for member tradespeople who have chosen to quote for a job lead posted by a member of the Top Tradespeople site to homeowners directly. Tradespeople can upload pictures of work completed to their profile area in the tradesmen listings section. They can add any qualifications and other trade memberships to showcase their dedication to building a good reputation.
The profiles of trades members are usually the first thing customers see when our trade members decide they'd like to quote for a job so it's important that our member trades add as much information as possible. Any reviews customers submit following completion of work also show on the profiles of the members so future customers will also see what others thought of the work, and levels of service provided, and they'll be more confident when it comes to choosing which contractor is right for their project. There are also opportunities to answer questions customers and visitors to the site ask about all kinds of aspects of home improvements and any questions our trade members have answered also show on their profile pages. Another illustration of how helpful a contractor is so be sure to check out any open questions and give your answers. You're the experts, after all.
How Much Does It Cost?
There's currently no cost to join Top Tradespeople, and you only pay when you top up with credits, which you exchange for job leads in your area and for the types of jobs you want to quote for. This means there's no charge for you to use the website to showcase your work, add your business qualifications and answer questions and tell people about your business. Since we work hard to promote the platform in search engines you'll find that your business page should also start to get more visibility in Google and Bing.
