It doesn't have to be pine, I only specified that to keep costs down. Any wood will do, so long as it's solid and not vaneer or plywood.
I'm not fussed about the finish. If you can lacquer/wax/varnish it without that adding a substancial amount to the quote, please include that in your quote. Likewise if finishing the table would add a substancial amount to the quote, please mention that you're quoting for an unfinished table.
