Sprinkler System Costs
Every building is different and costs will vary considerably. That’s why it’s so important to get more than one company out to give you a written quote. As a very rough guideline, you can expect to pay around £2500 to have a system fitted into the average family home. Remember that this is just the price for installing the system – there may be additional costs for “making good” any installation damage such as plastering or decorating.
Costs are much higher for installing sprinkler systems in commercial properties, just because the area is a much larger size. Anything upwards of £10,000 is probably realistic. Sprinkler systems in both residential and commercial properties require annual maintenance to make sure that they are still working properly. Getting this done is usually a condition of building insurance, or landlord insurance. Annual servicing and inspection costs are around £150. It’s often best to get the company which installed the sprinklers back to do the inspection, but you are free to use another company should you wish to do so.
