How Much is a New Boiler?

Cost of a new boiler

Installation costs of a new boiler will be higher than a decade ago but over time your boiler will pay for itself in its low running costs. You are paying for the new technology which is capable of reducing carbon emissions and saving you money every year.

Central heating boilers do not last for ever, and if yours is starting to go wrong on a regular basis, or is very inefficient, it may be time to time to invest in a new one.

New boilers can be expensive, but as upgrading from an old boiler to a brand new one can save you money on your monthly energy bill, this may offset the cost somewhat.  But what is the cost of a new boiler and what are the different types of boilers?

New combi boilers costs

By far the most common sort of boiler used in domestic properties in the UK is the combination, or combi boiler.  A combi boiler provides heating through the radiators as well as hot water on demand, and is the most efficient sort of boiler on the market.

They usually run on mains gas, but can also work on oil or LPG.

Combi boilers vary in capacity depending on the size of your home, and the basic rule is that the more rooms or radiators you have, the larger the boiler.

A very basic combi boiler for a small terraced house or flat starts at around £500 to £600, and can go up to almost £2000 for a large capacity boiler.

These prices do not cover installation, which must be undertaken by a properly qualified heating engineer who is Gas Safe Registered.

Regulations around working with gas are very strict in the UK due to the very serious nature from a health and safety perspective so ensure you carry out proper checks.
