However, the currency on Top Tradespeople is credits. Credits can be bought in bundles with 10 credits starting at just £10 + VAT. The more credits you buy, the more additional credits you get. e.g. £50 + VAT will give you 60 credits.
The currency of Top Tradespeople is credits which you can buy securely through our site using Paypal (and even if you don't have a Paypal account our understanding is you can still use a debit or credit card through Paypal to purchase credits). Credits are exchanged for job leads. The more you spend on credits the more credits you get.
Once you have credits you can then exchange them for leads.
Our leads cost from just 3 credits. Naturally, larger job leads (e.g. an extension), cost more to buy than a leaking tap. A maximum of 4 tradespeople can quote on each lead, but usually it is between 1-2 tradespeople who choose to quote on each project, depending on the type of job and also the location of the job. In areas where there are lots of tradespeople and a job type is popular there will be more tradespeople wanting to quote. We do not allow more than 4 tradespeople to quote. However, be aware that sometimes homeowners post their jobs on more than one platform so we cannot guarantee that the homeowner won't get other tradespeople from other sites online, and they might also make some phone calls to find someone themselves outside of Top Tradespeople. These factors are beyond our control and we can only limit the number of tradespeople our platform allows to quote on jobs posted on Top Tradespeople.
It is very important to act fast and get in touch with the job poster as quickly as possible to give yourself the best chance of getting a quoting opportunity.
The price (number of credits) for each lead is clearly marked in the list of jobs that are actively available to be quoted on - i.e. in the Jobs Search page (Latest Jobs) which is accessible via 'Find Jobs' or 'My Matches'. You can access this from many places throughout the site, wherever you see 'Find Jobs' or 'My Matches'.

Our leads are competitively priced and please bear in mind that even small jobs can lead to bigger ones. Small jobs also keep tradespeople busy on the slow days or can be used to fill in gaps in the diary.
Premium account members tend to be those who are taking leads regularly from us and who choose to subscribe to the premium member monthly subscription which entitles them to take leads at the premium member price. There are savings of up to 50% on leads for premium member. Premium membership is not compulsory, but those who are using the site regularly and taking more than a couple of leads a month from us usually find that they make considerable savings by upgrading to premium monthly membership. You can upgrade in 'Buy Credits' to a premium monthly membership.
A maximum of 4 tradespeople can quote on a job, but you'll more often than not find that it is fewer than 4 who are quoting. 4 is rare, particularly as the site is still populating with tradespeople. There will never be more than 4 as our system will reject an attempt by a 4th tradesperson to quote and the job lead will disappear from the job search pages once enough tradespeople have said that they want to quote for the job.
You will be able to see the price for each lead in the job search pages and also in the job lead page itself, clearly marked.
Once you click 'More Info', you will go through to the job lead page where you can find out more about the lead, before choosing whether to buy the lead or not. If you decide that you want to buy the lead, you'll need to ensure that you have some job lead credits on your account. Top up your job lead credits in 'Buy Credits' securely using either Paypal or your debit or credit card. The amount of credit you buy will be then added to your Top Tradespeople account balance and you can buy leads.
Once you buy the lead, the customer contact details will be revealed so that you can get in touch quickly with the client. We recommend that you contact the customer directly via telephone, but we provide the customer's email address as well, in case you need to get in touch via email. You can also send a message to the customer from the message box which will be revealed. We will also send you an email with the customer's contact details on, and the customer will receive an email with your contact details.
You can also choose to top up with SMS text alert credits so that when a job gets posted on the site, we can let you know about it via SMS directly to your mobile. If you're using SMS text alerts, in addition to the customer details being emailed to you, you'll also get an SMS with their contact details. Buy SMS text alert credits in 'Buy Text Credits'. Also, ensure that you switch 'ON' text messages in that page. If you have bought text messages but want to preserve them because you're busy just go to the 'Buy Text Credits' page and switch text messages to 'OFF'.
